Salvadoran illegal immigrant allegedly killed Virginia co-worker after she exposed their affair to his girlfriend

‎A 19-year-old Salvadoran man has been accused of killing his co-worker after she allegedly exposed their affair to his girlfriend.

‎Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos is accused of fatally stabbing Carmen Lizet Puch, a mother of a 3-year-old girl, near Difficult Run Park in Great Falls, Virginia, on August 17.

‎According to prosecutors, a co-worker told police that Cedillos-Campos had expressed his intention to kill Puch after she sent his girlfriend screenshots showing that the pair were having an affair.

‎The witness reportedly said Cedillos-Campos took a kitchen knife, latex gloves and a water bottle from the restaurant where he and Puch worked before heading to meet her at the park.

‎At around 4 a.m., he allegedly called the co-worker and said that “he did it,” which the witness interpreted as an admission that he had killed Puch.

‎Puch was later found with multiple stab wounds and gasoline on her body. Police said investigators believe Cedillos-Campos had attempted to set her body on fire after the stabbing.

‎Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis described the killing as “very premeditated,” saying surveillance footage showed Cedillos-Campos preparing himself before leaving the restaurant.

‎Cedillos-Campos was arrested in Maryland on August 19 and has been charged with second-degree murder. He is being held without bond and is due back in court on November 30.
