Late Saudi Arabia King Abdullah was buried Friday afternoon
in an unmarked grave, his body shrouded in a simple beige cloth as he
was carried into the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Grand Mosque in Riyadh on a
stretcher without a coffin. The austere, subdued burial was in line
with Islamic tradition that all people – even kings – are equal in death
before God.
As rich as the late King was, he was buried in a very simple and modest way in an unmarked grave.
Late King Abdullah died on Thursday at the age of 90 after battling with pneumonia.
